The Basic Classification about LED display

According to the application of LED display, there are indoor LED display and outdoor LED display. As the name implies, indoor LED display is generally used in indoor environment. When it concerned to types of indoor LED displays, there are 3, 3.75, 5, 8，10 and so on, according to their pixel sizes. Outdoor LED display is commonly applied to outdoor. According to the density of their pixel, there are 4094 dot, 2500 dot, 2066 dot, 1600 dot, and 1024 dot. Generally, both of them are made in accordance with customers’ requirement when referred to the products size.

Judged by LED’s color, LED display can divided into single base color, double base color and full color LED display. Single base color LED display is a kind of LED display has only one single color for every pixel. To make the display brighter, most pixels adopt red, as its luminescent efficiency is higher. Double base color LED display is a display with two base color in every pixel, including red and green. And yellow is considered as made up of these two base colors. In grey scale mode, the combination of red and green are able to produce 65535 kinds of different grey scale colors with different grey scale. Full color LED display also called tricolor LED display, every pixel has red, green and blue three base colors. Under grey scale controlling, the three basic colors generate 16,777,216 colors.

There are strip display, graph-text display, video display and digital mixed display based on their distinct functions. Strip display is designed to display letters. It is able to input through remote controller or connect with computers or work under offline condition. Graph-text display is intended for letters display as well graphs without grey scale control. Generally, it connects with computers, which enabling to input information synchronous. As the cheapest LED display, digital mixed display is widely applied to Stock Exchanges and banks to display stock market information, bank exchange rate, interest rate and all kinds of price list. This kind of display can also support remote controller input. Video display is a one-to-one matched to the pixels of the controlling computers’ monitor. With 256 levels of grey scale control, the expressive force is very abundant. Meanwhile, the display is configured with multi-media card and can play video signals.
