The state Department of Transportation of Ohio planned to install flashing green LED lights, which had better visibility in wintry conditions opposed to the current yellow flashing lights on state snow removal equipment.
It is reported that officials made this decision because the number of drivers crashing into state snowplows has been already on top in 2009 winter’s total. Moreover, in contrast to 57 all last winter, there have been 63 crashes statewide up to this season. This lighting demand will go before a new state administration and legislature in 2011, aiming for next winter.
